Austria

Nov. & Dec.  An ad campaign in T.I.P. (a trade travel magazine) for travel agents will continue as part of the Destination Training for Jordan. 

5th– 10th Nov.  A press group from daily consumer publications will arrive to Jordan on a familiarization trip. The group will consist of approximately 6 journalists participating from the following publications: Wellness Magazine with a circulation of 200,000; Signora with a circulation of 70,000; Woman with a circulation of 180,000; News Leben with a circulation of 90,000; Bezirkszeitung with a circulation of 700,000.

19th– 24th Nov.   JTB will host a group of high quality trade and consumer press on a classical tour of Jordan from the following publications: Standard with a circulation of 600,000; Osterreich with a circulation of 500,000; Kurier with a circulation of 700,000; Unser Niederosterreich with a circulation of 300,000; Reise Magazine with a circulation of 50,000; Reise Aktuell with a circulation of 60,000.

27th Nov - 1st Dec.  
JTB is organizing a potential tour operator familiarization trip for approximately 6 agents.

10th- 20th Dec.   JTB office in Austria will go on special sales calls to give small typical Jordanian Christmas gifts to several tour operators and travel agents.

Benelux Region

Oct. & Nov.   A 7 page article and reader's offer was published in Living magazine as a result of an individual press trip organized by JTB Benelux. Living magazine is one of the most popular lifestyle/and family magazines in the Netherlands with a total circulation of 80.000 (readership 190,000). 

31st Oct.
    JTB Benelux was present during a special dinner held in honor of the King and Queen’s visit to the Dutch Royal Family. JTB arranged with the Royal Court to invite several key trade partners in Holland to this event. 

27th Oct. – 1st Nov.  
A Religious/cultural press trip will be visiting Jordan representing Dutch and Belgian religious newspapers and magazines. The visiting journalists are Ms. Myriam Thys from Libelle, a leading Belgian magazine for 50+ women with a circulation of 263,741, will publish an article on Jordan in the Easter issue, and Mr. Henricus Jacobus Rijkers, from Katholiek Nieuwsblad: middle-large religious newspaper with a circulation of 13,500.

13th Nov.
    JTB Benelux will be attending the press workshop that is organized every year by ANTOR (the Association for National Tourist Boards) in the Netherlands. More than 50 press/media people are expected to attend. 

Oct. & Nov.   JTB will be co-marketing with several TOs in various media in the Netherlands and Benelux.

Nov. & Dec.  
A Jordan article and special readers offer will be published in Elegance a glossy magazine. Readers can SMS and vote for their favorite holiday destination and win a trip to Jordan.

France

Nov.   Launch of the book “La Jordanie” edited by les Editions Mengès-Place des Victoires at the Jordanian Embassy in Paris. JTB France will co-host this event, which will host 200 guests from the trade and press.

2nd -10thDec.   JTB France will partner at the exhibition fair “Salon du cheval” from 2nd -10th December 2006 in Paris with French tour operators and will distribute direct offers to the consumer.

6th-18th Nov.   JTB will host the crew of France 5 – public satellite & cable TV channel, TV show “Echappées belles“ hosted by Stéphane Bouillaud which has an audience of 750 000 people, to film a program on Jordan.

Nov.   JTB will host the journalist Sarah Douag from Le Quotidien Du Tourisme, which is a trade magazine.

13th- 20th Dec.   JTB will host 3 journalists from Ushuaia Magazine, which is a travel & discovery magazine to write articles on Petra and the Dana Reserve.

Oct., Nov., & Dec.   A widespread consumer campaign will be held with the theme ‘Les 7 merveilles de Jordanie’ (7 Wonders of Jordan) which are: Petra, Dead Sea, Wadi Rum, Jerash, Aqaba, Bethany and Mount Nebo. The promotional campaign objectives are to enhance Jordan's image and to show its diversity. The creative of this advertising campaign will be based on the 7 Wonders of Jordan and would inform the consumers of a special website created for this campaign: www.les7merveillesdejordanie.com which will include all tour operators selling Jordan in France divided into their specializations.    
This consumer advertising campaign would use two different types of media:

Specialized Media (niche market)

  • Nature / adventure / trekking:
    Trek Magazine, Ulysse, Terre Sauvage, Passion Rando
  • Scuba Diving:
    Plongeurs International, Octopus
  • Culture & archaeology:
    Archaeologia and Le Monde 2

Germany

Nov. – Dec.   A consumer ad campaign featuring the many attractions of Jordan will be spread out in various consumer and religious press including: Die Welt, Welt am Sonntag, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Frankfurter Sonntagszeitung, Die Zeit, and Süddeutsche Zeitung.

15th Nov.   Jordan will be featured on N-TV, the most popular German speaking news TV station with a general feature as well as focusing on wellness.

16th Nov.  
A consumer information event will be held in Berlin with German trade partners

29th Nov. – Dec. 6th  
JTB will host a travel agent familiarization trip chosen from various tour operators to introduce them to the many attractions of Jordan as well as train them on how to sell it.

Nov. – Jan.  
Jordan will be featured in a promotion in the Hertz bilingual magazine which will be distributed worldwide. Hertz magazine is the rental car company’s official magazine. The Hertz Corporation, with the largest market share worldwide, has its own membership magazine in the form of a luxury travel and leisure publication called OpenRoad. This is a high profile, quarterly, well respected magazine, 112 pages, high gloss, with a three months active distribution nationwide in Germany, with a readership of approximately 150.000 - 250.000 frequent, luxury leisure and business travelers and Hertz members per quarter, including the exclusive Gold- and Business Club members.

Dec.   More than 8,000 travel agents will be able to receive a distance learning course on Jordan as part of their benefits offered by Studiosus Reisen. 

Dec.   An advertising and e-newsletter co-marketing activity will be held with Wikinger Reisen for trade and consumer.

Italy

Oct. 28th – Nov. 1st   JTB Italy has organized a familiarization trip dedicated to the Italian incentive market, with the participation of 15 top incentive houses. The event included a workshop in the Dead Sea, with the local Jordanian operators on October 31st.

Oct. – Dec.   A consumer advertising destination campaign for Jordan will be carried out in the print media including publications such as Famiglia Cristianawith a circulation of 813,435; I viaggi di Repwith a circulation of 671,265; Corrierewith a circulation of 900,000; Consiswith a circulation of 400,000; and Qui Touringwith a circulation of 449,362; and an online campaign with TO offers on
www.expedia.com & www.lastminute.com.

North America

3rd – 12th Nov.    JTBNA is organizing a religious press trip for 15 religious reporters to generate press coverage of Jordan's holy sites, status as an interfaith role model, and more.

18th – 21st Nov.     JTBNA will attend the American Academy of Religion Convention – a religious convention for group leaders as well as co-sponsoring a panel discussion, reception, or lecture on key issues for this influential group of academics.

4th – 7th Dec.     JTBNA will attend the Luxury Show in Las Vegas in partnership with Jordanian trade.

9th – 11th Dec.
    JTBNA will attend USTOA 2006, Phoenix, Arizona, the annual conference and marketplace for the United States Tour Operators Association.

Russia

Oct. & Nov.
   JTB has renewed it plasma screen advertising for October and November. In November the plasma screens will be in 4 different locations in Moscow. Manezh Square, Smolenskaya Square, Serafimovicha Street, Tverskaya.

1st Nov. - 27th Dec.   JTB in partnership with Citibank and EastLine will organize the PETRA EXHIBITION which is a photo exhibition held for the public on Petra and other major attractions in Jordan comprised of a collection of the best images from three famous Russian photographers. Launch Date – November 4th. Press event for exhibition launch – November 11th, 2006.

10th - 17th Nov.  
10 Russian top TOs will come to Jordan for a fact finding trip to evaluate MICE opportunities in Jordan and to liaise with Jordanian partners. Participating companies: Lemek, Dan Appy, Inna Tour, Continental AG, Nicko Travel, Aspera, Luxury Holidays, Infoport, Betta Tour, Avantix.

17th - 24th Nov.  
Journalists from Moscow and St. Petersburg will be arriving to Jordan covering major Russian publications such as: Domovoy (50,000 copies), Harpers Bazaar (75 000 copies), Men’s health (90,000 copies), Elle (80,000 copies), and Top Sante(65,000 copies).

20th Nov.  
JTB Moscow will launch a destination advertising radio promotion campaign on "Russkoe Radio” which has 40,000,000 listeners.  

24th Nov.   
JTB Moscow will hold a workshop entitled “Baptism sites in Jordan” which will be a training session for 150 religious agents from all over Russia in cooperation with the specialized monthly magazine “Christianity and Pilgrimage”

27th Nov., 4th & 18th Dec.
    JTB Moscow will organize a joint advertising campaign with TOs in Moscow and St. Petersburg in Tourism and Otdykh (Tourism and Relaxation) with a circulation of (120,000 copies). 

Dec.   
 Domodedovo in-flight magazine will publish a new article on Jordan in its December issue. The magazine is distributed on board of all local and international flights departing from Domodedovo airport, and has a circulation of 80 000 copies.

10th -17th Dec.    
A TV crew of the 1st ORT Channel, a major national TV channel, will come to Jordan to produce a documentary on major sites and attractions. The documentary is planned to be on air in March 2007.

Scandinavia


5th Dec.   JTB Scandinavia is organizing a Christmas evening with the Swedish-Jordanian Association

15th Dec.  
An information evening will be held for around 15-25 journalists who are members of the Finnish Travel Journalists Guild.

Nov. & Dec.  
Co-marketing consumer advertising will be held in the daily newspapers Dagens Nyheter and Svenska Dagbladet.

Nov 
 A co-op advertising campaign will be held in cooperation with several Swedish tour operators.

Nov.
  A trade press trip including a journalist and a photographer from the RES Magazine will be arriving in Jordan for a classical tour.

1st Nov. 
 A seminar / workshop for approximately 16 people will be held in cooperation with Temaresor for their own travel agency managers of TUI in Sweden.

6th- 7th Nov.  
A TO information evening will be held in Oslo where a presentation will be given about Jordan.

20th - 22nd Nov.    
A Jordanian trade delegation will visit Stockholm. JTB will participate as a co-sponsor and will conduct a presentation.

27th Nov. - 1st Dec. 
 A high quality press trip will visit Jordan from the following publications:  TT/Spektra (Nordic), PM, Bulletin (SE),  ErhvervsBladet (DK), Resenären (SE), Internet Media AS (NO), and Ekstra Bladet FERIE (DK).

Nov.  
In cooperation with Temaresor an event will be held for their VIP customers at Medelhavsmuseet Stockholm

Spain  

Oct. & Nov. 
 JTB Spain will host 2 media lunches to engage support for promotional efforts.

Nov.   JTB Spain will contact tour operators to ensure positioning in next year’s brochures.

Nov.   JTB Spain will attend several tourism fairs in northern Spain: Turicom in Asturias, Tour Sport in Galicia, and Thermatalia Ourense. The office has already made appointments to appear in radio and TV to promote Jordan.

Nov.  
Jordan will appear in the front page of the very prestigious magazine 'Historia y Vida' (History and Life) with an attractive picture of Petra.

Nov.   Jordan will make the front cover of TAT Tourism Magazine

Nov.   JTB Spain will carry out a direct mail campaign to travel agencies.

Nov.  The EIBTM issue of EVENTS with a circulation of 50,000 will have 2 full pages on Jordan, one dedicated to Petra asking people to vote for Petra as one of the new 7 Wonders and one dedicated to showcase Jordan as an Incentive destination.

Nov.  JTB Spain is preparing a one week daily mini radio show with Radio COPE to promote Jordan.

Nov.  De Viajes, top tourism magazine has offered the front page of the magazine plus a several interior page long reportage promoting Jordan as a complete tourism destination, affordable, near, accessible, safe and friendly.      

28th – 30th Nov. 
JTB Spain office will attend the EIBTM fair with the JTB head office with six members from the Jordanian trade.

Dec.   
JTB Spain is planning another direct mail campaign to all Spanish tour operators with a personal letter to be sure Jordan is included in their brochures of 2007.

Switzerland


Nov.   
 An advert in X-tra Business will run to supplement the article on Jordan in the September issue.

Nov.   
 A co-op marketing campaign with Movenpick Hotels will run in the TTW edition of Schweizer Touristik.

20th - 24th Nov.
    JTB will participate in the bookshop presentations by Matthew Teller, author of Rough Guide Jordan and the program will be as follows: 20th Bern, 21st Schaffhausen, 22nd Basel, 23rd Zurich, 24th Geneva.

Nov. & Dec.
    Workshops will be held in conjunction with Tour Orient (the largest Arabic – specialist tour operator in the French speaking part of Switzerland) to train travel agents. The workshop will be held in Lausanne, Fribourg, Sion, and Yverdon, all French-speaking parts of Switzerland.

Dec.
    A MICE familiarization trip to Jordan for approximately 6 participants will be organized.

Ukraine

Sept. - Nov.
   An outdoor consumer campaign on billboards spread out through Kiev focusing on spa and wellness will continue throughout the month.

End of Nov.
   JTB will host a press trip for a private TV ‘OK Group’ which is responsible for the publication of the ‘SPA program’. The participants are organizing to meet with HM Queen Rania to film a program covering one day in a queen's life. They will also make a film about the spa treatments in Jordan.

United Kingdom


6th- 9th Nov.
     JTB will be participating in the World Travel Market in London along with members of the Jordanian trade.

15th- 21st Nov.
     A Health and Wellbeing press trip is in the final stages of planning. Gail Simmons will be visiting from Footprints Body and Soul Guide, a guide book for Spas, nature reserves etc. with a shelf life of up to 5 years and print run of 40,000.

21st - 23rd Nov.
    A travel agent road show will be taking place in Chester, Cheltenham and Crawley. Each road show will be attended by 70 agents for a complete Jordan training session. JTB UK has partnered with 10 UK tour operators, Jordanian hotels and Royal Jordanian.

Oct., Nov. & Dec.
    A comprehensive ad campaign will be held covering  key national newspapers amongst them The Guardian, The Times, Daily Telegraph and Independent, as well as specialist travel magazines including ABTA Magazine, Selling Long Haul, and Travel Weekly, along with internet travel sites and third party sites. The online campaign includes Google ad words and banner ads on the Times, Telegraph and Guardian travel websites.

28th Nov. - 5th Dec.  
10 Journalists will be visiting Jordan and will be staying in Aqaba, Petra and the Dead Sea and will visit all the main attractions in the country. Currently interest is high and we have already secured 4 publications (specialist holiday magazines and high circulation regional newspapers). The journalists will fly in and out of Aqaba.

22nd - 27th Nov.   The Travel Channel will be visiting Jordan to film news stories and sequences for their new format Travel 2007 series.
